Claus H. Brandt

Claus H. Brandt, 90, of Route 1, died Monday at a Glenwood nursing home after a short illness.

He was born in Mills County and was a longtime farmer and cattlefeeder. Brandt was a World War I veteran. He and his wife, Maude, were married August 26, 1919.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Charles, Henry and Jack, all of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Anne) Freudenfeldt of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Gene (Alice) Walker of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. George (June) Stephens of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cutler Chapel. The Rev. Walter John Boris, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery.

The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
