The Fever's Fatality

The dread disease, typhoid fever, is visiting the family of Mr. and Mrs. D. Gosch with appalling fatality. Only last Thursday their daughter, Julia, aged 20 years, passed away after an illness of brief duration, and on Monday last the final summons came for another member of the family, a young man aged 22 years. The father and mother are now dangerously ill with the same disease, and are lying very near death's door and the present indications are that they, too, will be unable to recover from the ravages of the dread disease. It is sufficiently sad when the family circle is broken by the death of a single member, through accident or disease of any character, but it is inexpressibly so when an entire household is literally swept out of existence within the brief period of a week or ten days by contagion. The Nonpareil sincerely hopes that the lives of those now so near death's door may be spared, and that they be restored to former health and vigor.

The funeral of the young man who died on Monday, was held from the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
