Catherine Thressa Green.

Catherine Thressa Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Green, was born in Mills county, Iowa, Oct. 12, 1914. When about 3 years old she received a fall striking on her head, and symptoms indicated that a fatal disease started from the fall. Spinal trouble set in and for the past two years she had been confined to her bed. About the first of June, 1921, her sight failed her and she became totally blind. So silently did this malady creep upon the child that the parents did not realize it until the sight was practically gone. The child was so patient and uncomplaining that only close observation revealed the changes. The parents sought aid from every source using every kind of practitioners but to no effect. Last Saturday, June 24, revealed the fact that the end was near and on Sunday morning at 9 o'clock the spirit took its flight to its maker, at the age of 6 years, 8 months and 13 days. Besides her father and mother she leaves two brothers: Richard and Walter; three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brandt and Mrs. Henry Green; several uncles and aunts and many friends who sympathize with the family in this sad hour. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church by Rev. Thompson, the local pastor, Tuesday, June 27. The remains were laid to rest in the Plumer Settlement cemetery.
