Jerry L. McIntosh, age 82, passed away at his home on July 29, 2016.
He was born in Mills County, Iowa, on March 23, 1934, to the late William David and Lola (Pickens) McIntosh. Jerry graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. In 1961 he married Sharon Kemmish and together they had two children, Wayne and Lorraine. Jerry farmed in Mills County his entire life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorraine Leaders; and brothers, William “Tex” McIntosh and David “Tobe” McIntosh.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 13 years, Marge (Powell) McIntosh; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sue McIntosh; stepdaughters, Julie Powell, Rhonda Kilday (Jim) and Lisa Elliott; grandson, David Leaders; sisters, Janet Greinke and Mary Lou Weaver; sister-in-law, Janet McIntosh; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11 a.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment is in the Plumer Settlement Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs or Hospice with Heart.
