C. L. Spetman, 77, Dies at Farm Home

Carl Ludwig Spetman, 77, a lifelong resident of Lewis township, died Thursday at his farm home after several weeks of ill health. He was the son of Henry H. Spetman, one of western Iowa's pioneers.

Mr. Spetman was a member of Plumer Settlement Lutheran church and the Elks' lodge.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha Spetman, four daughters, Mrs. Adolph Beno of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Henry Heitman and Mrs. Carl Spethmann of Lewis township and Mrs. Ruth Geise of Minday, five sons, Arthur, Alfred and Donald Spetman of Lewis township, Paul of Neola and Harold of Woodbine, 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. G. W. Lobeck officiating. Burial will be in Plumer cemetery in Mills county. Woodring's funeral home is in charge.
